Start-up Procket Networks has hired a former Nokia executive as its new chief marketing officer.
Ron Young was a vice president of marketing and sales for Nokia's high-speed access products division, which made DSL and other networking equipment for telecommunications service providers. Most recently, Young was co-founder and chief marketing officer for telecommunications start-up Yipes Communications. Procket, which has raised $272 million in venture capital,to compete against Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks in the network equipment market. The company, which has been in stealth mode, plans to announce products later this year.
