Poll: Rate Ford's FG Falcon

At the 2008 Melbourne Motor Show, Ford presented its upcoming Falcon to the public for the first time. We'd like show-goers to give us their opinion.

Variants of the upcoming Falcon took up most of the space at Ford's stand at this year's Melbourne Motor Show. Models on display include the XR8 ute, XR6 turbo and "euro-style" G6E turbo. Not only will show attendees be able to ogle at the Ford's forthcoming large sedan, they'll also be able to test out its new rear doors -- no more head banging as you clamber aboard a taxi -- and push and prod all the interior bits.

Ford Performance Vehicles also put some of its hotted up FG Falcons on display, namely the turbo-charged six-cylinder F6 and the V8 GT. Interestingly, Ford has elected to showcase only its fast or luxurious Falcon models; the base XT sedan is conspicuous by its absence.

We're interested in what visitors to the Melbourne Motor Show thought of the new Falcon. This year's show runs until Monday 10 March at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

For the record, this journalist thinks the FG will improve Falcon sales markedly -- it wasn't even in the top 10 cars sold in January -- but it will still be battling for second spot with the Toyota Corolla, behind the Commodore. The speculated diesel engine and major export program, a la Holden selling the Commodore to Gulf States and the US, can't come soon enough.
