The number of mobile phone subscriptions has long since surpassed Australia's total population; in fact, a study in 2009 indicated that there were 1138 mobile phone subscriptions for every 1000 Aussies. What does this mean? It means that you, or someone you know, is bound to sign up for a new phone soon, and we want to know how you'll make up your mind.

Previous surveys we've run on CNET Australia have told us that price is a major consideration (as well it should be), but what is more important to pay for: the latest, greatest new phone or trusted network service? With new, awesome phones arriving in stores all the time, do you choose a handset then shop around for the best value plan, or do you choose a telco then visit a store and choose the best phone from the available range?

We've kept the survey short and sweet, and we'll report back with the results next week. In the meantime, check out the result of our last survey about how we typically use our smartphones.
