Police take road-crossing chicken into custody
Authorities issue an appeal for information on the identity of a lost chicken found trying to cross a road in Scotland.
Why did the chicken cross the road? The Tayside Police Division in Scotland would seriously like to know the answer. A buff, brown-colored bird attempted to scoot across a roadway in Dundee on Friday, prompting passing motorists to ring up the local police for help.
The cops tracked the chicken down, gave it a ride to the police station and took it into custody. The local SPCA will take over care of the wayward animal until its owner can be traced.
"Police are appealing for any information as to why the chicken was crossing the road," the Tayside Police wrote on Facebook.
The chicken's motivations are unclear at this time, though it does look a little guilty in its mugshot. Unless the chicken decides to confess, we'll eternally be left wondering why it crossed the road.
