The company also increased its production run and expanded the number of countries in which these cars are available.

Cars are Andrew's jam, as is strawberry. After spending years as a regular ol' car fanatic, he started working his way through the echelons of the automotive industry, starting out as social-media director of a small European-focused garage outside of Chicago. From there, he moved to the editorial side, penning several written features in Total 911 Magazine before becoming a full-time auto writer, first for a local Chicago outlet and then for CNET Cars.

Not even a week ago, Volvo's Polestar performance brand rolled out a fancy new World Touring Car Championship safety car, resplendent in its wagon-ness. But it's not done just yet! In fact, Polestar's rolling out an updated version of two cars -- S60 and V60 -- with more hustle, kit and availability than ever before.

Polestar's old six-cylinder motor is gone, and in its place is a twin-charged (both supercharged and turbocharged) four-cylinder engine, putting out 367 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of torque. Mated to an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, both variants will reach 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.

The company also improved upon its previous models by shedding some weight (97 pounds, to be precise) and adding a few additional performance bits, including new wheels, slotted brake discs and a unique power steering tune.

Perhaps most exciting is the announcement that Volvo will be expanding the cars' availability. Instead of manufacturing just 750 cars across 13 markets, it will now produce 1,500 units available in 47 different markets. Yes, the US is part of that. Yes, you'll still have to act fast to buy one.
