PointCast/Emailer conflict? (MacPPP involvement possible)

a. Mark Shedlin writes that, after updating online from PointCast Network 1.0 to 1.0.1, he started having system freezes that he eventually determined were due to a conflict between PointCast Network and Claris Emailer 2.0. I contacted Tony Gentile (of PointCast) about this and he replied that their engineers have been unable to duplicate this problem so far. However, he points out that they have been using OT/PPP. He has some reason to believe that there may be a problem restricted to use of MacPPP and/or FreePPP. He promises more information on this matter soon.

b. Speaking of MacPPP, reader Patrick (no last name given) writes that he encountered a problem with MacPPP version 2.5.1 and 2.5.2 where he could not complete a connection when using a connection script. He reminds me that MacPPP 2.5.3 has been released to fix this problem.
