As previously reported, the PS4's launch price will be AU$549, compared to US$399 in the US.

The two-week turnaround from the US to Australia is a marked change from the PS3. After launching on 17 November 2006 in the US, Australia waited until 23 March 2007 for its chance to buy the PlayStation 3.

Update Sony Australia has also announced a price drop on the PS Vita system in the lead up to the PS4 release. From 2 September, the PS Vita Wi-Fi and 3G models will be reduced to AU$269.95, while the 12GB version of the PS3 super-slim will also be knocked down to AUD$269.95.
