The Bodybugg measures one's energy exertion and body mass, then uploads data to a Web site.
Wearable weight-loss gadget to hit gyms
The Bodybugg is a new wearable device from BodyMedia designed to manage people's weight-loss efforts. The device measures the wearer's energy expenditure and body mass, then uploads data to a system that also estimates the amount of calories the person has consumed.
Wearers of the Bodybugg will be able to get a "dashboard" view of their progress via a Web site. The device, which has undergone testing since last summer, will be distributed in health clubs by Apex Fitness.
