Periscope revamps website to make live videos easier to find

The site's new look highlights relevant curated channels and makes it easier to search for video.

Periscope relaunched its website Thursday to make it more in sync with its mobile app.

The update make it easier to find popular live video channels such as Police, Race and America (think El Cajon), Walk on the Wild Side for pet lovers and U.S. National Parks for nature lovers, the Twitter-owned company said in a blog post Thursday. There are currently more than two dozen channels on Periscope, which are meant to highlight interesting topics, ideas and events.

The relaunched web experience comes as live streaming continues to gain popularity with celebrities, businesses and regular folk wanting to share their views with large audiences.

On Tuesday, Periscope announced a VIP program, offering high-volume users "care packages," with more visibility and discovery as the competition from rival Facebook Live intensifies.
