Penguin Computing adds new executive

Linux-hardware specialist Penguin Computing announced it has hired Menekse Gencer as director of business development. Gencer served most recently as co-founder and vice president of strategic alliances at software start-up Vistify. Penguin Computing has been revamping its executive ranks as it tries to fight off competition from VA Linux Systems and waning investor enthusiasm for the open-source operating system.
