Pedestal raises $5.28 million

Pedestal Software announced Monday it received a $5.28 million first round of funding from Venrock Associates, which will also have a representative serve on the company's board. Newton, Mass.-based Pedestal Software develops security management software, which allows companies to lock-down all their servers and workstations automatically. The company sells its software to financial services, healthcare and other industries as well as to government agencies.
