Pebble was one of the first smartwatches to debut and it looks like the device soon may become more mainstream.

The Pebble smartwatch is rumored to be sold at Best Buy within the next few weeks, according to claims from two employees who said they were briefed on the matter and a leaked document given to 9to5Mac.

The document shows an inventory form for a device classified as a "digital communication appcessory" that is to be in stock as of July 7. As 9to5Mac points out, the date could mean when the device goes on sale or just when the stores get their shipments of the gadget.

The Pebble smartwatch was a massive Kickstarter hit last year, reaching its funding goal of $100,000, and then quickly surpassing it to raise a total of $10.2 million. The $150 smartwatch can alert users to e-mails and social-networking updates, as well as display caller ID information. The watch face is made of e-paper technology, allowing users to see what's on the display in direct sunlight.

It wouldn't be too surprising if Best Buy started selling the Pebble smartwatch. It already sells a Sony watch and the Nike Fuel Band, according to 9to5Mac. Also, the retailer has been increasingly focusing on tech gadgets. Besides matching online pricing for the devices it sells, Best Buy has announced plans to feature more of its partners' products, such as the Samsung minishops being rolled out at all Best Buy locations.

CNET contacted Best Buy for comment. We'll update the story when we get more information.
