Australians can now use any PayPal smartphone app to order and pay ahead of time at restaurants and cafes around the country.
PayPal Australia has partnered with EatNow, OrderMate and Beat the Q, allowing Aussies to use their PayPal app to order ahead at cafes, bars and restaurants by using the "Check-In" feature and pay at the same time.
Part of the company's push toward a cashless society, the new feature has allowed PayPal users to connect with the networks of all three new partners from the one app, giving access to a broad range of offline stores.
Users will now be able to use PayPal to buy from OrderMate's over 1000 cafes, bars and restaurants; EatNow's over 2000; and, using Beat the Q, order and pay ahead at hundreds of eateries.
The three join point-of-sale app Kounta, which partnered with PayPal last month to enable PayPal transactions.
"As we continue to work in collaboration with other leading entrepreneurs and innovators of all sizes, PayPal's mobile application will increasingly be seen as a destination for consumers to browse local businesses, order ahead and transact at point of sale," said PayPal vice president of Global Product Hill Ferguson. "The way we differentiate from our competitors is our maniacal focus on creating consumer solutions that harness the power of connected networks, solving real customer pain points and consistently looking for opportunities to simplify the lives of our customers."
