Patrick Wilson to play Aquaman's evil half-brother Ocean Master

Even in an underwater universe, there's still room for family drama.

He ain't heavy, he's my evil supervillain half-brother.

On Monday, "Aquaman" director James Wan confirmed a report by Deadline that actor Patrick Wilson will play Ocean Master, also known as ORM and Orm Marius, in the 2018 film.

Ocean Master's origin varied somewhat in the comics to match Aquaman's, but he shares one parent (sometimes dad, sometimes mom) with the superpowered swimmer, played in the film by "Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa.

Wilson seemed amused that the news was out, following up Wan's tweet with one of his own.

Wilson began his career on Broadway and is a two-time Tony nominee, and also has Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. He's appeared in four horror movies directed by Wan -- "Insidious," "Insidious: Chapter 2," "The Conjuring" and "The Conjuring 2."

Aquaman's not the first superhero to clash onscreen with a brother. Maybe he and Thor, who's faced plenty of woes with Loki, should get together at an underwater pub to commiserate about family issues.
