PalmSource teams with partners on kiosks

PalmSource is teaming with software publisher Handango and wireless service company WideRay to set up kiosks in retail stores to sell software titles. The partnership, announced Wednesday, builds on an agreement Handango and WideRay made in September. PalmSource will essentially provide software that allows parts of Handango's library of software to be available on WideRay kiosks.

The kiosks will be in retail stores where Palm OS-based devices are sold, and can include everything from games to personal productivity and business software. Consumers will be able to download full applications as well as demo versions, ring tones and graphics. Devices using version 3.5 and up of the Palm OS will be supported.
