A massive Pacific Bell network outage that struck last Friday continued to affect Telocity and America Online high-speed Net customers through the weekend, but was largely fixed by Sunday evening, Pacific Bell said.
The company is still looking into the source of the "frame relay" outage, which brought down Internet connections and automatic teller machines across California and Nevada. Frame relay is a common technology used for carrying data over telecommunications networks. The phone company also said an unrelated outage had kept some Pacific Bell Internet customers offline through early Tuesday, but said that problem had also been fixed.
