Overture extends talks with AOL

Internet search engine company Overture Services says it has extended its deal with AOL Time Warner's America Online until April 24 to continue talks with the Internet services provider. Overture runs a search engine made up of advertisements, aiming to find the advertisements most relevant to users. The company declined to give further details of the talks. Last month, Overture lost to rival Google a deal to provide search results for Internet services provider EarthLink, prompting concerns that other large ISPs would not renew their agreements with the paid-search provider. Overture has since extended its relationships with Microsoft and Yahoo. News.com staff contributed to this report. Story Copyright © 2002 Reuters Limited. All rights reserved.
