It was hard to get the hang of how to adjust the heat of the burners, but this $2,600 range cooked food well and boiled water quickly.

The KitchenAid KFDD500ESS is a 30-inch dual-fuel range with a double oven that provides a lot of versatility.

Double ovens have become popular with appliance companies. Like the Kenmore Elite 97723, the two electric oven cavities of the dual-fuel KitchenAid KFDD500ESS are useful when you have to cook more than one dish, but you have to use two different temperatures. This KitchenAid's gas cooktop is also a bonus for folks who prefer cooking over a direct flame. Just be prepared to shell out $2,599 for this 30-inch range.

The KitchenAid KSGB900ESS is a solid performer when it comes to baking, broiling and roasting.

Once again, KitchenAid packs a ton of features into a 30-inch range, including a steam-bake tray and a baking drawer. This $2,649 range's straight lines, stainless steel finish and simple profile resemble the industrial design of luxury-brand ranges. This oven also performs well in the bake, broil and roast tests I performed.
The vent in the middle of this KitchenAid electric oven connects to a downdraft ventilation system that removes smoke from the cooktop.
KitchenAid KSEG950ESS
There's a reason why the KSEG950ESS is KitchenAid's third appearance on this list. The appliance manufacturer has made a name for itself in the large appliance realm by pushing bonus features and design elements that are comparable to those of luxury brands such as such as Jenn-Air and Dacor. This $3,149 model includes a built-in downdraft ventilation system that helps eliminate smoke from stovetop cooking. Pretty fancy for a brand that often gets more attention for its stand mixer.

This Samsung range has an induction cooktop and a Flex Duo insert that allows for double-oven baking.

Samsung's Flex Duo insert lets you split one oven into two separate cavities, so you can have a double oven only when you need it. Samsung includes this helpful addition in the NE58H9970WS. The company also equips this induction cooktop with a string of blue LED lights embedded around parts of each burner that creates a cool "virtual flame." This range entered the market at $3,699, but the price has since decreased.
The GE Profile PHS920SFSS has a sleek profile and induction cooktop.

The induction cooktop and convection oven of the GE Profile PHS920SFSS, along with its good looks, made this 30-inch slide-in range stand out. But like the Kenmore Elite 97723, this range gets rid of burner knobs, an adjustment that is difficult to get used to. This GE model has an MSRP of $3,200, but it's available for less depending on where you look.

This range from the luxury-appliance brand Dacor is a sight to behold. The 36-inch-wide body is all stainless steel, and the $7,130 is incredibly easy to use. The performance on this gas range was disappointing, though, so this appliance would be more of a showpiece than anything else.
