Oracle acquires company, patent

Oracle on Friday acquired a patent for online marketplaces by purchasing a small Chicago company called Strategic Processing. Oracle said the 15-year-old patent will enhance the company's online marketplace products that tie together buyers and suppliers. Financial details were not disclosed. Lester Teichner, president of Strategic Processing, co-invented the technology that Oracle acquired.
