Optus has just launched an accompanying Apple iOS app for its MeTV with Fetch PVR and internet media streamer.

MeTV subscribers can use the new smartphone and tablet app to view TV guide information, as well as remotely set their MeTV box to record programs.

The app also allows users to watch movie trailers, which are unmetered for Optus mobile phone customers.

Lastly, the app features a virtual D-pad, as well as channel, volume, pause, play and record buttons, so when your phone and MeTV are on the same network, the former can act as a remote control.

The app is available now on the Apple iTunes store and an Android version should be hitting the market in "early 2012".
