Shoppers spent $6 billion online in July, excluding auctions--a 26 percent jump from a year ago, according to Web measurement company ComScore Networks. Travel was the largest e-commerce category with sales rising 32 percent from a year ago to $2.9 billion. Online travel site Orbitz entered the top 50 ranking at No. 40 with 10.3 million visitors, up 19 percent compared with June.
Online sales of computer-related hardware rose 30 percent from a year ago to $927 million, ComScore reported.
