ONI Systems, which makes optical networking hardware for carriers, said it will sell $8 million in gear to SDN Communications.
SDN, a privately held phone company in South Dakota, will install ONI's ONLINE11000 product in more than 30 cities. The gear is expected to nearly double SDN's network capacity. ONI will begin shipping the equipment during the second quarter.
