Microsoft Intellimouse: strange behavior with fast user switching MacFixit reader Brad reports strange behavior in Mac OS X 10.3.x's "fast-user-switching" functionality when using a Microsoft Intellimouse:

"If you use a Microsoft Intellimouse (and the associated latest driver) in Panther, you may notice a weird issue. If you are the only one logged in, and you use the mouse and its forward and back buttons, everything works fine. However, if you fast user-switch to another account while leaving Safari open on the original account... and then open Safari again on the newly switched-to account, the forward and back buttons don't move you back or forward one page. They move you back and forward two pages. Give it a try. I use a 17-inch iMac Flat Panel PC2100 1GHz with Panther 10.3.4 and Intellimouse 5.0."

If you are having a similar issue, please let us know.

Power Mac G4 cooling modification MacFixIt reader Matt Disko has posted a cooling modification for the Mirrored Drive Door Dual 1.25GHz Power Mac G4 that helps with overclocking and CPU replacement upgrades (note that performing these procedures is not recommended and will void your Apple warranty)
