Final Cut Pro and lost frames on PowerBooks MacFixIt reader Joe Tita reports an issue where using Final Cut Pro 4.x on a PowerBook G4 under Panther results in dropped frames:
"In serveral forums I found the same problem without any response and workaround from Apple. The situation is as follows: Powerbook 15 or 17 with FCP 4.1 or 4.5 with 10.3/1/2/3 and QT 6.5. Capturing material with FCP is working as usuall, but after checking with burned in timecode the are lost frames ? which means FCP is losing frames without showing the dropped frames message.
"[The] same system with FCP 4.1 or 4.5 with 10.2.8 and QT 6.5 is working without any issues. After looking at the system log I found the following message localhost /Applications/Final Cut Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Final Cut Pro: Just dropped 1 frames (total 22)."
FileMaker Pro 7 splitting words Reader Dave Webb reports an issue with the latest version of FileMaker Pro (7.0v1) where text is ungracefully split at the end of lines:
"I just installed FileMaker Pro 7.0v1 (upgraded from 6.0v4) and now find that words in a text field are split (not divided) at the right edge of a text field with the text aligned left. Changing the font size/alignment only creates new splits in different words."
