Odds & Ends: Kerbango to go silent; Vectorworks and Driver Update extension conflict?

CNET staff
Kerbango to shut down Kerbango will be shutting down soon. A note on their Web site states: "3Com is closing down its Internet Appliance Division. Since August of last year Kerbango has been part of that division, so we too will be going away. To those who actually got to see and use the Kerbango radio, we would like to thank you for your kind words and reviews. We showed the world the stand-alone Internet radio. May our path lead the way for those who come after us." iTunes and SoundJam users will no doubt be affected to some degree, as both products feature Kerbango support. (Thanks, Michael Robertson)

Vectorworks 8.5.2 and Driver Update extension conflict A reader notes that on his G4/733, Vectorworks 8.5.2 will not dynamically move objects (lines, points objects, etc) if the 'Driver Update extension' is enabled. Updating the firmware on the video card did not help. Disabling the extension or using Vectorworks on an older Mac avoids the problem.

Update: According to another reader report, Nemetschek tech support has said that this is a known issue, and a fix is forthcoming. However, the fix will be for Vectorworks 9.0 only.
