Nvidia's GeForce GTX 680 video leaks, Australian pricing revealed
With full reviews expected shortly, Nvidia's GTX 680 has hit the web and at least one store.
Based on architecture codenamed Kepler, Nvidia's GeForce GTX 680 has had an early internet debut.
While it's too early to talk performance figures, The Verge spotted a video on YouTube featuring Nvidia's Ujesh Desai spruiking some of the video card's new features.
Reminiscent of Intel's Turbo Boost, the new card is able to dynamically increase clock speed for less graphically demanding games to improve frame rates (making us think that sections of the card may be powered down to keep thermals under control), and introduces an anti-aliasing technique called TXAA. Nvidia also takes the opportunity to show off more realistic PhysX destruction and fur rendering.
OzBargain user vid_ghost also picked up that a local retailer is selling a Gigabyte version of the card, with 2GB of memory for AU$679, giving us a ballpark figure of how much this new graphics powerhouse will set us back, and showing quite a mark-up from US prices.
Reviews are expected to hit the web tomorrow — although Tom's Hardware reportedly pushed a review live early by mistake, revealing the performance of the card.
