Nvidia has introduced a more advanced graphics processor, the GeForce3TM for Macintosh computers. The company asserts the chip, which is powered by the new Nvidia NfiniteFX engine, can build 3-D scenes with the clarity of photographs and create characters with individual looks and expressions.
The chip was unveiled at Macworld Tokyo during Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs' keynote speech Wednesday evening Pacific Time. GeForce3 is the first fully programmable GPU and has 64MB of double data rate SDRAM. Nvidia is based in Santa Clara, Calif.
