PC graphics chip leader Nvidia announced Thursday that it has named former Advanced Micro Devices executive Marvin Burkett as its new chief financial officer. Burkett was with AMD for 26 years, rising to the level of CFO, before he left in 1998 to become an executive vice president at computer maker Packard Bell NEC.

Burkett replaces Christine Hoberg, who resigned in April after Nvidia had to restate three years of earnings amid a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation and a rash of shareholder lawsuits.
