NuCore secures $22 million

NuCore, a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company specializing in designing chips for digital cameras, announced Wednesday that it had received an additional $22 million in funding. The latest round was led by Crosslink Capital of San Francisco and included participation from all previous investors: Horizon Ventures, Jafco, Sigma Partners, Techfarm and VantagePoint Venture Partners.

NuCore has focused on designing signal processors, chips that take the signal from the image sensor and turn it into something that can be stored in memory.
