More than 1.5 million people are now subscribed to the Internet multiplayer game World of Warcraft, with 500,000 online at any one time.
World of Warcraft publisher Blizzard Entertainment is crowing that its massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) has broken the 1.5 million global subscriber mark. The game has reached global peak concurrency - the number of subscribers playing at the same time in each market - of more than 500,000 players.
In Europe, World of Warcraft has more than 500,000 active subscribers, and 230,000 peak concurrency to date. The US has a current subscriber base of over 800,000 players. No details were available for Australia.
