Nokia's 'cancelled' Windows RT tablet outed on the Web

Nokia has decided to ditch plans to launch a Windows RT-based tablet, a new report claims, but that hasn't stopped the device from being pictured on the Web.

Nokia had plans to build a 10-inch Windows RT-based tablet that would launch sometime this year, but decided to scrap it in favor of a slate running a full version of Windows 8, The Verge reported Tuesday, citing people who are familiar with the company's plans. Although details on that Windows 8 device are not available, a Korea-based forum poster has released images of what the person claims is the cancelled tablet.

According to the post, which was discovered by The Verge, the Windows RT tablet comes with a 10-inch screen and includes a magnetic power connector that mimics the functionality of Apple's MagSafe in MacBooks. The Verge's sources informed the site that the Windows RT tablet was going to run an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and the poster, who claims to have received it as a gift from a Nokia employee, has confirmed that's what's running in the pictured tablet.

In terms of design, there isn't much to the tablet. It comes with a black finish all around and a somewhat large bezel around its display. The poster says that the device has HDMI and USB ports and can connect to LTE networks.
