The Nokia Communicator will make its North American debut on June 1, a Nokia spokesman said Thursday. The handset maker's first combination personal digital assistant (PDA) and cell phone will sell for about $600 at CompUSA stores, among other retailers, the spokesman said. The spokesman said Communicator will also be sold through wireless carriers, but none have been announced yet. The Communicator will compete against other high-end devices, such as the AudioVox Thera or the Handspring Treo, which combine a phone and the functions of a PDA.
