Nokia N82: Camera phone extraordinaire

Today Nokia announced a feature-packed 5-megapixel camera phone with auto-focus and a xenon flash, in addition to Wi-Fi and GPS. Flashy

The Nokia N95 is a terrific camera phone, but it's missing a vital ingredient -- a xenon flash. Which is why we're particularly excited about the Nokia N82, announced today.

The N82 has almost all the same features as the N95, but packs in a focus-assist light and most importantly that xenon flash, which means you can take usable shots in very low light.

Taking photos in low light with the N82 should be a much better experience than using the N95's camera, but we'll need to try one out before we make any final judgements.

We're not overwhelmed with its design -- it looks like an upgraded N73 -- but we are taken with the specs: GPS, HSDPA (3.5G) and Wi-Fi make for a highly connected phone. Click through for more specs.

According to Nokia's press release, the N82 will be available soon and cost about £317 SIM-free, and we expect it'll be free on some contracts. Expect a full review sharpish, and click through for a front view. -Andrew Lim

Other features include an expandable microSD card slot, which comes pre-loaded with a 2GB card, and a 3.5mm headphone jack -- so you don't need to use an annoying adaptor to plug in your own headphones. Yay!
