Nokia announce mid-range threesome

Nokia announce three new mid-range phones to complement the range of high-end devices expected in the third quarter.

Nokia's latest threesome; 6600 Fold, 3600 Slide and 6600 Slide

Nokia today announced three new mid-range handsets to join its upcoming N-Series releases in the third quarter of 2008.

Dubbed by Nokia as "beautiful to use", the 3600 Slide, 6600 Slide and 6600 Fold carry on Nokia's latest aesthetic trend of glossy plastic bodies with rounded edges.

The 6600 Slide and Fold will both support 3G mobile networks, while the 3600 Slide and 6600 Fold will both feature 3.2-megapixel cameras; however, unlike the previously announced Nokia handsets for release this year, none of these handsets will feature Wi-Fi or on-board GPS. The two Slide model phones will be sold with the latest version of Nokia Maps on a bundled MicroSD card, but will require a separate Bluetooth GPS receiver to make use of navigation functionality.

Nokia estimate that the 6600 Slide and 6600 Fold may retail for AU$420 and AU$460 respectively, while the 3600 Slide may sell for approximately AU$290.
