Nikon's American operations get new CEO

Yasuyuki Okamoto, a 29-year veteran of Nikon's photo and imaging business, now is in charge of American sales and marketing.

Yasuyuki Okamoto has been named president and chief executive officer of Nikon Inc., making him responsible for sales, marketing and customer service in the Americas, the company said Tuesday. Okamoto has spent 29 years in the company's photo and imaging business.

Most recently, Okamoto was general manager and operating officer of marketing for Nikon's imaging company at Nikon Corp. headquarters in Japan. Earlier, he ran the company's internal and external communications.
