Nike's self-lacing sneakers to run you $720

Shoes inspired by the movie "Back to the Future Part II" hits two Nike shops in New York City on December 1.

Nike's "Back to the Future"-inspired shoes are almost in the present.

Nike's "Back to the Future"-style self-lacing shoes will be here in a little more than two weeks, and now we know how much they will set you back.

Nike said Monday that its HyperAdapt 1.0 sneakers, inspired by the hit 1985 movie, will cost $720 -- if you are willing to foot the bill. Nike said the shoes will be available to Nike+ members at the Nike Soho store and Nike Clubhouse in New York City beginning December 1.

When you put your foot in the shoe it lights up, as a pressure sensor in the sole draws tighter an arrangement of fishing line inside. You adjust the fit with two buttons on the front. The laces on the front are just for decoration, sadly.

Information about booking appointments to put them through their paces and make a purchase can be found on or through the Nike+ app. A small group of Nike+ members will be allowed limited early access to the shoes on November 28. Those people will notified of their opportunity through the Nike+ app's "Reserved for you" system, when they will have the opportunity to purchase the shoe.
