Next Level Communications named James Ide as its new CFO Tuesday. Ide was formerly Next Level's vice president of finance and had been working as the company's acting CFO since July, replacing James Wandrey, who resigned. Before joining Next Level, Ide served as director of finance for Motorola's international telecommunications carrier joint ventures, and he was chief financial officer of Cwill Telecommunications, a wireless technology company.
Next Level makes VDSL (Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line) hardware for telecommunications carriers, which transmits data at speeds up to 30 megabits per second and delivers cable TV-like, multichannel video programming to consumers using regular phone lines. Motorola owns about 75 percent of Next Level.
