It's Force Friday here on planet Earth, and to celebrate, the First Order Stormtroopers are invading New York City.

To promote its latest line of "Star Wars"-themed Hot Wheels toys, Mattel has teamed with ride-hailing service Uber to give free rides in life-size versions of its First Order Stormtrooper character cars to travelers in the Big Apple on Friday.

As you can see in the pictures at the top and bottom of this post, the Stormtrooper cars look incredible, and you'll definitely want to make like TK-421 and leave your post to catch a ride in one.

The ability to order an Uber stormtrooper car will unlock at 9 a.m. ET on Friday, and you'll definitely want to use Force speed to get your orders in as these Stormtrooper cars surely won't last. The cars will be running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Friday in Manhattan (59th Street and below), at which point they'll return to First Order HQ to plan the next attack on the Resistance.

To request a Stormtrooper escort, Uber users must activate the Hot Wheels promo from within the Uber app. Just tap the profile icon on the left side of the app, then select the Promotions menu item. From there, you can enter promo code HOTWHEELSFF. Now, when you are back on the main screen in Uber, you'll be able to slide the bottom slider to the Hot Wheels option and request an escort of the First Order.

All rides up to 30 minutes are free, and each car will come stocked with a Hot Wheels diecast car and a "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" starship that riders can keep as a souvenir.

Stormtrooper Ubers (Stormtrubers?) are just one of the "Star Wars"-themed events and merchandise announcements planned for Force Friday as the legendary movie franchise gets ready to return to the big screen. You can follow along with all the "Star Wars" news of the day on our "Star Wars" hub.

The Force will return to theaters in " Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which lands on Australian movie screens on December 17, followed by the US and UK on December 18.
