New 'Twin Peaks' book to fill in the 25-year gap
When it airs in 2016, the new season of "Twin Peaks" will pick up in the present day. An upcoming book by Mark Frost, one of the show's co-creators, fills us in on what's happened in 25 years.
Last week, Showtime and "Twin Peaks" co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost announced that after 25 long years off the air, "Twin Peaks" will make a comeback in 2016. Since then, we've learned that the new series will be set in the modern day, leaving a quarter-century gap between us and events our favorite characters have experienced.
Mark Frost is at work on a novel that will help fill in this gap. Frost has partnered with publishing house Flatiron books on "The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks," which will debut sometime in late 2015. "The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks" will reveal what's happened to your favorite "Twin Peaks" characters since we last saw them in 1991, and will give a more in-depth look at the events surrounding the death of Laura Palmer.
"This has long been a dream project of mine that will bring a whole other aspect of the world of Twin Peaks to life, for old fans and new," Frost said in a statement. "I couldn't be more thrilled."
Maybe that gum we liked is coming back in style, after all.
