Last week, a new trailer from the upcoming film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" gave fans glimpses of a hovering Star Destroyer, Rebel Pilots in shackles, a very tall robot K-2SO spouting the odds of failure, AT-ATs in battle, an ominous Death Star, and yes, even a glimpse at Darth Vader in all his dark-side glory.
Now in a new international trailer of "Rogue One" posted to YouTube on Monday, Mon Mothma reveals that the intercepted coded message about the weapons test came from Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), the father of main character Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones.
There's not much known about Galen yet, but at this summer's Star Wars Celebration Europe, Mikkelsen did comment that his character -- who is something of a Star Wars version of Manhattan Project leader J. Robert Oppenheimer -- "invented something so beautiful, so fantastic that it might have changed the universe." Could it be either the Death Star or perhaps something less sinister?
The new trailer also has Jyn saying those magical words, "May the Force be with us."
Directed by Gareth Edwards, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is scheduled to hit theaters December 15 in Australia, and December 16 in the US and UK.
