Buckle up, Whovians. The Doctor gets timey-wimey in new 'Doctor Who' trailer

The Doctor has prepared the Tardis, and he's getting ready to adventure out into time and space in Season 9 of BBC's time-traveling sci-fi series "Doctor Who."

BBC released a new trailer for the upcoming series to its YouTube channel on Wednesday, giving us a taste of the wacky adventures The Doctor and his companion Clara will embark upon this season.

The trailer gives another look at some of the enemies The Doctor will face, from The Master -- or Missy, as the current incarnation of The Master prefers to be called -- to the Daleks to several new, yet-to-be-identified baddies that The Doctor and Clara will have to defeat along the way.

Last month's trailer provided a first look at the character "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams will play this season, and Wednesday's trailer gives us a slightly better glimpse at how she'll look in the show. Williams appears in a handful of scenes in the trailer, dressed much differently than the first time we saw her last month.

So how timey-wimey is the next season of the long-running sci-fi series going to be? What kinds of trouble will Williams get The Doctor and Clara into? We'll find out on September 19, when Season 9 of the series premieres in the US, UK and Australia.

In the meantime, get your sonic screwdrivers ready and watch the new trailer for the upcoming season of "Doctor Who" below.
