New 'Avatar' traveling exhibition explores Na'vi culture

Explore the world of Pandora in an interactive exhibition debuting in Taiwan this December.

Learn all about the Banshee and other creatures from the movie "Avatar" in a new traveling exhibit.

If you've been pining for Pandora, there's hope on the horizon. You'll soon be able to immerse yourself in all things Na'vi with a new roaming exhibition.

"Avatar: Discover Pandora" will begin its tour in Taipei. It will be filled with the extraordinary creatures and breathtaking environments inspired by the hit James Cameron film from 2009. It's presented by Lightstorm Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products.

"Our fans around the world often tell us that they wish they could travel to Pandora, and this touring exhibition gives us a unique opportunity to bring the wonders of Pandora to them," Kathy Franklin, Lightstorm's president of franchise development, said on the official site.

The 12,000-square-foot experience will guide visitors through Pandora. It will show off the planet's flora and fauna, wildlife and the culture and mythology of its indigenous people, the Na'vi.

Settings from "Avatar" such as the Hallelujah Mountains and Tree of Souls, as well as life-sized re-creations of creatures such as the Banshee, Direhorse and Viperwolf, will be on display.

Visitors can learn about Earthlings' discovery of Pandora and can operate the cool exoskeleton AMP suits that ploughed through Pandora in the film. There will also be activities based on the culture, language and music of the Na'vi.

The exhibition will open in Taiwan on December 7. Further locations and dates have yet to be revealed on the official site. "Avatar 2" will debut in theaters in December 2018. Future "Avatar" films are set for release in 2020, 2022 and 2023.
