New Assassin's Creed clothing line goes beyond the T-shirt

Musterbrand's official clothing line for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag brings rare style to tie-in fashion.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is due to launch in just a few short weeks, and Ubisoft has partnered with German label Musterbrand — a label known for its video-game-themed clothing — to launch an official tie-in clothing line.

It's a far cry from what we would usually expect of video-game-branded clothing. Usually, there's a range of T-shirts with a bunch of logos splashed all over them, a hoodie or two and maybe some accessories — not bad stuff, but a little on the juvenile side.

Musterbrand's take on Assassin's Creed blows them out of the water. Collaborating closely with the game's creators, the brand has created a range of clothing that is absolutely stylish while remaining true to the game. Particular favourites include the naval-style hoodie, the black scarf and the amazingly handsome slim-line Achilles jacket.

And of course, Ubisoft approves. "Musterbrand has done a great job again this year at producing stylish, wearable clothing inspired by Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. I can truly say that the threads express what the Assassin's Creed franchise is all about: freedom, agility and a sense of adventure," said the game's creative director Jean Guesdon.

Prices range between €42 (AU$59.50) and €185 (AU$262) and can be pre-ordered today for shipment on 18 November. You can find the full collection on the Musterbrand website here.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will be available as a launch title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 21 November (the consoles will be released on 29 November and 22 November, respectively), as well as the Wii U and PC, and it will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 29.
