Virginia Tech G5 cluster wins award Virginia Tech was awarded the 2004 Computerworld "21st Century Achievement Award" in the Science category for their supercomputer comprised of 1100 Power Mac G5s: "The world?s third most powerful super computer is created from scratch in three months using inexpensive personal computers, dramatically lowering the cost of advanced scientific research." Apple site one of ten best support sites The Association of Support Professionals (ASP) has named Apple's website one of its 2004 "Ten Best Web Support Sites" in the Open Division (for larger companies). More.

Fred Anderson added to Apple Board In a brief press release Tuesday, Apple announced that former EVP/CFO Fred Anderson has been elected to the Board of Directors: "Fred is widely regarded as one of the industry?s leading financial experts and we want his guidance and judgment to continue benefiting Apple?s shareholders." Apple created a new PDA... Apple Insider recently covered Steve Jobs' comments at this week's "D: All Things Digital" conference, including a remark that Apple recently developed a PDA but decided not to ship it. More.
