FTC won't create no-spam list According to IDG News Service, "The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will not immediately start a national do-not-e-mail list, despite a law passed last year that calls for the agency to develop a plan for such a list." More.

FireWire compliance testing available to WWDC attendees Apple has announced that registered WWDC attendees can have their FireWire devices tested without the usual fees, simply by bringing the devices to the conference. A page describing the program states "The 1394 Trade Association will conduct compliance testing for free, and if your device passes, they will award you the FireWire compliance logo (a small processing fee will be charged if the logo is used)."
