An updated, "improved" Spotify experience is headed to 2015 and 2016 Samsung smart TVs, offering both free and premium subscribers streaming music controls tailored for the big screen.

Users will be able to sync those controls up with Spotify Connect on their computer or mobile device, with an aim to make it easier to listen to music while multi-tasking throughout the house, Spotify said Thursday.

If you've got an older model Samsung smart TV, you'll still be able to access the existing version of Spotify's app, although you'll still need a Spotify Premium subscription to do so. Spotify said updates are coming for that version of the app, too.

Spotify said the new controls are coming soon in all markets where Spotify is available, except for Japan.
