NetZero sheds wires

Free Internet service provider NetZero is working on a way to target advertisements to wireless devices, marking the company's entrance into the wireless arena. The company on Thursday announced it is developing a wireless advertising product based on BREW, which is Qualcomm's proposed operating system for wireless devices. The product, known as Hardcell, will let marketers send advertisements directly to handheld devices. A date for the product release wasn't available.
