Netcom investment trimmed

West Highland cuts back on its Netcom On-Line stake.

West Highland Capital and affiliates cut their stake in Netcom On-Line Communications Services to 3.2 percent from 8.1 percent of the company's outstanding shares, Bloomberg Business New reported.

The investment group sold its shares at $18 to $44 between April 2 and September 3, according to a Schedule 13D filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The group, led Lang Gerard, now holds 364,800 shares in Netcom, an Internet service provider with more than 500,000 customers.

The company's shares slipped 25 cents Friday to close at $17.75.
