Net system helps users get the fax

TAC Systems today debuted an application that lets users send faxes over the Net without making long distance calls.

Promising to reduce the cost of faxing, TAC Systems today debuted a Windows 95 application that lets users send and receive faxes over the Net without making long distance calls.

With FAXfree on the Internet, users can send fax pages to Internet email addresses from within standard Windows 95 applications as well as the FAXfree program itself. The company claims that faxes sent using its software permit greater flexibility than email in sending graphics, charts, tables, and other information.

A free shareware version of FAXfree is posted on the company's home page. A commercial version, which includes automatic printing of incoming faxes and scanner support, sells for $29.95.
