Net Stocks Drop After Times Report

Net stocks are still down today after yesterday's drop. That drop is considered by many analysts to be a simple hiccup. The decrease was blamed on a story in yesterday's New York Times warning investors to be cautious of Net stocks.

Netscape Communications stock closed at $107.75. Today, as of 12:28 p.m. ET, the price remains the same. Quarterdeck, the erstwhile PC memory management company which is now focusing on Net software, closed at $27. Today the price is back up to $28. Uunet Technologies' stock dropped to $73. The stock is back up to $73.75 today.
